Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all cats boarded at Almora Cattery. Completion of the Almora Cattery registration form and delivery of cats into our care signifies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
General
-
While the cattery will ensure due diligence is maintained to ensure the well-being and security of cats as the priority, all cats are boarded at their owner’s risk.
Arrival and Departure
-
A registration form must be completed for all cats boarding at the cattery; this includes providing an emergency contact in case owners cannot be contacted.
-
Cats must be registered with a veterinary practice and the contact details provided.
-
All cats must be up to date with their Cat Flu and Cat Enteritis vaccinations. Vaccination against Feline Leukaemia Virus is also strongly recommended.
-
Vaccination certificates must be available for inspection on admission or copies provided beforehand. We cannot accept cats for boarding without proof of vaccination.
-
All cats must be healthy on arrival; we reserve the right to refuse boarding to any cat that in our judgment appears to be suffering from any illness or infectious disease.
-
We accept cats for boarding with a pre-existing medical condition providing that it has been diagnosed by a vet, and we are fully informed by the owner ahead of boarding. Medication can be administered if owners provide instructions and enough medication for the duration of the stay (with a few extra days in case of any delay in collection).
-
Medication must be clearly labelled with the cat’s name and the dosage instructions.
-
Cats can be dropped-off and collected at any time during our advertised opening hours; drop-off and collection outside normal hours is strictly by prior arrangement only.
-
Owners are responsible for cats until they are securely in their pen at the start of the stay and once removed from their pen at the end of their stay.
-
We require pet carriers to be left with us for the duration of a cat’s stay in case of emergencies that require moving a cat from their pen; carriers are left at the owner’s own risk.
-
We reserve the right to re-home cats that are not collected within ten days of the arranged collection date unless we have heard from the owners and arrangements have been made.
Boarding Pens
-
Cats will usually be housed in a unit with enclosed, heated sleeping accommodation and an outdoor space. A few pens do not have an outdoor space; these are used at busy times or by request from owners.
-
Cats from the same household may share a pen; if any problems arise between cats sharing a pen, we reserve the right to place cats in separate pens at an additional cost to the owner.
-
A bed, blanket and food bowl are provided for each cat, together with scratch posts and litter trays.
-
Water is provided inside the pen, with an additional supply outside in pens with multiple cats.
-
Owners are welcome to bring their cat’s own bedding, beds, toys and scratching posts. However, we reserve the right to refuse items that are deemed to be too large for the pen. We also reserve the right to clean such items if they become soiled.
Feeding
-
Normal feeding is twice per day, morning and evening. Kittens, elderly cats, or cats on special diets can be fed more regularly if required.
-
The cattery provides the following “wet” foods - Whiskas jelly/gravy, Sheba jelly/gravy, Felix As Good As It Looks, Gourmet Perle.
-
The cattery provides the following “dry” foods - Go Cat, Whiskas, Purina 1, James Wellbeloved.
-
Owners may provide their own food should they prefer to do so; we do not routinely supply kitten food so this must be provided by the owners.
-
Owners must supply all the food for cats with special dietary needs, ensuring an adequate supply for the duration of the stay plus a little extra in case of delays in collection.
Procedure for Cat Illness
-
If a cat becomes ill during its stay, we will attempt to contact the owner in the first instance; if the owner is unobtainable, we will attempt to contact the emergency person(s) given on the registration form.
-
If it is deemed necessary, we will call the cat’s own vet to seek guidance; if the cat’s vet is not available, we will contact Almora Cattery’s nominated vet.
-
In all cases, we will act in the best interest of the cat with respect to its health and we will follow the advice of the vet on such matters.
-
We will keep owners informed at all times.
-
Any fees incurred because of illness will be the responsibility of the owner. We may charge transport fees to/from vets.
-
If we identify any cases of worms, fleas and/or ticks during our well-being checks, we may administer the appropriate treatment at an additional cost to the owner.
-
In the unfortunate event of a cat’s death at the cattery during boarding, we will take the cat to the cat’s own vet unless other arrangements have been made.
Bookings, Payments and Cancellations
-
Bookings can be made during business hours by phone or at any time by e-mail or Facebook.
-
Boarding fees are charged at a ‘daily rate’ including day of arrival and departure; this is to allow flexibility in time of day for drop-off and collection.
-
Invoices will be issued 7 days prior to the start of a cat’s stay.
-
All boarding fees must be paid in full by cash, BACS or credit/debit card on or before arrival.
-
We reserve the right to request a non-refundable deposit to secure the booking for any stay.
-
If a booking is cancelled more than 7 days prior to the start of the booking, no payment is necessary (although any deposit would be non-refundable).
-
If a booking is cancelled once an invoice has been issued, the invoice must be paid in full unless we are able to re-book the pen; this may be difficult at such short notice.
-
Cats will not be released to the owner until all bills are settled in full.
Terms and Conditions Amendments
-
These terms and conditions will be reviewed annually and any amendments communicated to owners through the cattery website and Facebook page.
