Meet The Team

Almora Cattery is owned and run by Darryl Davies and Jenny Heeley. Darryl was a research scientist before becoming a chemistry teacher, while Jenny was an early years and special needs teacher. We spent over 20 years teaching in international schools in various countries including Ecuador, Sudan, India & China. After CoVid, we wanted a change of lifestyle so we took our Cattery and Kennel Management qualifications and here we are!

We travelled everywhere with our two cats, Stella and Artois, who we rescued in Egypt when they were very young. On returning to England, we adopted Chloe but she unfortunately passed away last year. We then adopted Sammy, a beautiful ginger boy who loves to follow us round the cattery at feeding time, and we recently adopted Reggie, a beautiful tabby boy who has so much energy! You will see them both around the cattery.

Reggie

Reggie was a regular visitor to the cattery in our first two years. We adopted him when his owner wasn't able to look after him any more and we thought that Sammy might like a buddy. He quickly made friends with Sammy and settled into life at the cattery. He has bundles of energy and loves to play with his "feather on a stick" as well as chase Sammy round the house and garden.

Sammy came to the cattery when his owner had to go into hospital. He was with us for about two months before we decided to foster him so that he didn't have to stay in the cattery any longer. Fostering became adoption and he is now a fixture of cattery life. He loves spending time in the cattery and follows us around when we are feeding or cleaning. He is quite a cuddle bunny, as you can see in this picture.
